Turin, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has qualified for the 2026 ATP Finals for the fifth consecutive year. This achievement secures his place in the prestigious tournament, which will take place in Turin this November, alongside world number one Jannik Sinner and second seed Alexander Zverev.
Alcaraz’s qualification follows his impressive performances, including victories at this year’s Roland Garros and the US Open. Both Sinner and Zverev earned their spots based on their Grand Slam titles, propelling them to the top of the rankings.
With the conclusion of the 2026 US Open, it is clear that Australian Open champion Alcaraz will remain in the top 20 of the ATP “Live Race to Turin,” ensuring his qualification. The 23-year-old, who has claimed 26 tour-level titles, highlighted his season with a career Grand Slam at Melbourne Park.
According to the ATP win/loss index, Alcaraz boasts a 26-4 record this season. In addition to his triumph at Melbourne Park, he also secured a win in Doha and reached the finals of the Masters 1000 event in Monte Carlo.
Recently recovering from a wrist injury, Alcaraz made a strong return by reaching the quarterfinals of the US Open, where he faced Ben Shelton, who needed a final-set tiebreak to advance.
Alcaraz holds a 7-5 record in the Nitto ATP Finals, having reached the championship match for the first time last season, where he faced defeat against Sinner.
Other players vying for a spot in the season-ending event include Ben Shelton, currently third in the Race to Turin, along with Flavio Cobolli, Frances Tiafoe, Arthur Fils, Daniil Medvedev, Rafael Jodar, and Taylor Fritz.
The final event of the season will be held at the Inalpi Arena from November 15 to 22.
