Khalin Joshi Extends Lead at the Nava Raipur Open Golf Tournament

Nava Raipur, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : Indian golfer Khalin Joshi showcased his skills at the Nava Raipur Open, held at the Fairway Golf and Lake Resort in Chhattisgarh. On September 16, 2026, Joshi delivered a remarkable performance, scoring 4-under 30 in the second round without a single bogey.

The 34-year-old from Bengaluru started the day with a one-shot lead and quickly added four birdies, reaching an impressive nine-under 59 at the halfway point. With two victories already in the current PGTI season and currently ranked 12th in the Race to India Championship, Joshi has not lost a shot in the first 18 holes of the tournament.

Due to heavy rainfall, the course was deemed unsuitable for a full 18-hole round. Consequently, the tournament committee decided to conduct all rounds on the back nine.

Aryav Shah, a 20-year-old from Kolkata, finished the day with a score of three-under 31, featuring four birdies and one bogey. He tied for second place with Nepal’s Subash Tamang, Bengaluru’s Akshay Neranjan, and Panchkula’s Rounil Kukar.

Tamang, just 24 years old, recorded the lowest score of the second round with a remarkable 29, including five birdies and no bogeys, putting him firmly in contention.

Seven players tied for sixth place with a score of six-under 62. This group included Ummed Kumar from Chandigarh, Sunil Chaurasia from Kolkata, Veer Ahlawat from Gurugram, Sri Lanka‘s Chalitha Pushpika, Vasu Sehgal from Chandigarh, Bipin Mukhiya from Noida, and Karan Pratap Singh from Faridabad.

Chaurasia earned promotion in the DP World PGTI by winning three consecutive NexGen events and maintaining a top ranking, while Ahlawat was the 2024 DP World PGTI ranking champion.

The cut was set at three-under 65, allowing 56 out of 132 total players to advance to the next two rounds.
