Bumrah’s 3 Wickets Restrict New Zealand to 153 in Third T20; India Needs 154 to Win

Guwahati: Facing a sharp bowling attack led by Jasprit Bumrah, New Zealand managed to score only 153 runs against India in the third T20 match. India currently leads the five-match series 2-0 and aims to secure the series by winning this contest.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and elected to field first, inviting New Zealand to bat. The Kiwi team had a poor start, losing Devon Conway for just 1 run when the score was 2. Rachin Ravindra also fell early after scoring 4 runs.

By the time New Zealand reached 13 runs, they had already lost two wickets. Glenn Phillips and Tim Seifert then tried to stabilise the innings with a 21-run partnership for the third wicket. However, Seifert was dismissed after scoring 12 runs off 11 balls.

Phillips then joined forces with Mark Chapman, putting together 52 runs off 41 balls and taking the team’s total to 86. Chapman scored 32 runs in 23 balls with two sixes and two fours before getting out, while Phillips fell just short of a half-century with 48 runs from 40 balls, including one six and six fours. Captain Mitchell Santner contributed 27 runs. New Zealand finished their innings at 153 for 9 wickets in the allotted overs.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for 17 runs. Hardik Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi claimed two wickets each, and Harshit Rana took one wicket.

New Zealand, led by Mitchell Santner, fielded Devon Conway, Tim Seifert (wicketkeeper), Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Kyle Jamieson, Matt Henry, Ish Sodhi, and Jacob Duffy.
