Hubli, April 4: A significant controversy has emerged in Hubli, Karnataka, surrounding the relationship between a young couple. The dispute escalated to allegations of assault, kidnapping, and serious accusations. The young woman’s mother has filed two separate complaints at the Vidyanagar police station. In a turn of events, the young man’s father has also lodged serious allegations against the woman’s family.
The situation began with accusations of alleged ‘Love Jihad,’ where the family of a Hindu girl accused the young man, Sameer, of serious misconduct. The girl’s family claimed that Sameer not only attempted to lure her but also assaulted her and even attempted rape. These allegations led to two separate complaints filed by the girl’s mother at the Vidyanagar police station.
In addition to Sameer, the complaints named his sister and several others, including Mulla, Luke, Saip, Gautam, Ruksar, and Azeem. The police are currently investigating all these allegations.
On the other hand, Sameer has also made accusations. A complaint was filed at the Ashoka Nagar police station by Sameer and his family. Sameer’s father, Sharif Mulla, alleged that a mob of about 50-60 people attacked his son.
According to the complaint, the attack occurred in the Silver Park area of the city, where a person named Chintanmanthan and his son gathered with the mob. They allegedly assaulted Sameer, forcibly placed him in an auto-rickshaw, and then took him to a cow shelter where he was brutally beaten.
The attackers reportedly assaulted Sameer with shovels and fists, threatening his life. He was hospitalized due to his injuries, where he provided a statement to the police. The police have registered a case under various sections of the law, and the investigation is ongoing.
Amidst this turmoil, Sameer’s family has completely denied the ‘Love Jihad’ allegations. They assert that Sameer and the young woman have known each other for three years and that their relationship was consensual.
Sameer’s sister even claimed they possess several photos and evidence proving the relationship was longstanding and consensual. She accused the young woman’s family of playing the “victim card.”
Currently, the police are investigating both parties’ complaints. The case has become sensitive, prompting the administration to remain vigilant and monitor the situation closely.
