
Mumbai, April 4: A serious criminal case has been registered against a former municipal councillor at the Chembur police station in Mumbai. According to police, Ramesh Suresh Kamble is accused of contesting elections based on a fake caste certificate, defrauding both the government and the public.
Police received information regarding the location of suspects involved in the murder of Brigadier Mukesh. They were already conducting an intensive checking operation when they received a tip-off about the suspects near Johri village. Acting swiftly, the police team began to surround the area.
As the police pursued the suspects, they fled towards the forests of Guniyaal village. The police managed to apprehend one suspect on the spot, while the other attempted to escape deeper into the woods. During the chase, feeling cornered, the fleeing suspect opened fire on the police.
The sudden gunfire escalated tensions in the area. In self-defense, the police returned fire. During the encounter, a police bullet struck the suspect in the leg, causing him to fall. The police quickly took control of the situation.
The injured suspect was promptly sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. A search of the area revealed a pistol in the suspect’s possession, suggesting he may have been planning a major crime or was already involved in serious offenses.
Senior officials arrived at the scene shortly after receiving news of the incident to assess the situation. The field unit team conducted a thorough inspection of the crime scene. Meanwhile, police are currently interrogating the apprehended suspects.
