Cuttack, December 9: After the Test and ODI series, the T20 series between India and South Africa is set to begin. The first T20 match will be played on Tuesday at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Indian pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah and all-rounder Hardik Pandya are on the verge of reaching the milestone of 100 wickets in T20 internationals.

Jasprit Bumrah has taken 99 wickets in 77 innings across 80 T20 matches so far. Just one more wicket in Cuttack will see him complete his century of wickets in the format. There is a strong possibility that Bumrah will achieve this landmark in the upcoming match.

Hardik Pandya is making his international comeback in T20 cricket after the Asia Cup. Pandya has claimed 98 wickets in 108 innings over 120 matches. Taking two more wickets will bring his total to 100 in the shortest format.

Among Indian T20 bowlers, Yuzvendra Chahal stands as the fourth most successful with 96 wickets in 80 matches. However, he has not played international T20 since 2023.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar ranks fifth in India’s T20 wicket-takers with 90 wickets in 87 matches. He has not featured in T20 internationals since 2022.

The first T20 match in Cuttack between India and South Africa promises to be highly exciting. South Africa won the Test series, while India faced tough competition in the ODI series. South Africa looks prepared to challenge the Indian team fiercely in the T20 series. The inclusion of David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen has strengthened the South African squad. On the Indian side, Shubman Gill has returned after missing the ODI series due to injury.
