Bride Injured in Bihar Shooting During Wedding Ceremony

Buxar, February 25: A bride was injured during a wedding ceremony in the Mufassil police station area of Buxar district, Bihar, when a gunman opened fire on the stage. Reports indicate that the shooter was the bride’s alleged lover.

The incident occurred in Mallah Toli, Chausa, during the ‘Jaimala’ ceremony. As the bride, Aarti Kumari, was on stage, a masked man suddenly climbed up and targeted her with a gun. Chaos erupted at the wedding as guests scrambled for safety.

The wedding procession had come from Sulemanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and was celebrating the union of Aarti Kumari, daughter of Nand Lal Mallah. The atmosphere was festive, with all rituals being performed when the attack happened.

Immediately after being shot, the bride collapsed on stage. Before anyone could react, the assailant fled the scene. Family members, with the help of local residents, rushed the injured bride to the district hospital. After initial treatment, doctors referred her to Varanasi for advanced care due to her critical condition.

Chandan Kumar, the officer in charge of Mufassil police station, confirmed that the shooting took place late Tuesday night. Police arrived promptly and initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that the incident may be linked to a love affair. Authorities are conducting raids to apprehend the suspect, and the community is buzzing with discussions about the shocking event.
