Mumbai, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : The Bollywood community is reeling from the news of actor Nana Patekar‘s passing. Prominent figures like Mukesh Khanna and filmmaker Ashok Pandit expressed their sorrow over the loss. In conversations, both praised Patekar’s remarkable dialogue delivery, acting skills, and his dedication to farmers.
Mukesh Khanna shared his memories with Patekar, noting, “I never met him at parties, as I prefer to avoid them. We did work together in the film ‘Guru’ and later in ‘Raja’ with Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Kapoor. However, due to some differences during the shoot, Patekar left the project. He often explained roles and other aspects to the crew, which made our director uncomfortable. Eventually, the conflict escalated, leading to Patekar’s departure, and his role was reassigned to Paresh Rawal.”
Khanna reflected on Patekar’s unparalleled talent, stating, “There has never been, nor will there ever be, an actor like him. His dialogue delivery was exceptional. I believe that a good actor has 60% of their strength in their voice. He was a kind man, dedicated to the military and addressing farmers’ issues, something rare today.”
Ashok Pandit also expressed his grief upon hearing the news. He remarked, “His passing is shocking for our entertainment industry. There had been no reports of his illness, making the news even more startling. The entire film community is in disbelief. Patekar was a unique figure, especially for his work with farmers. People should learn from him. He was a down-to-earth person who spoke his mind, and he carved a niche for himself through his performances and simplicity.”
