Mumbai, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : Former Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav has expressed his profound sorrow over the passing of renowned Bollywood actor Nana Patekar. Jadhav described Patekar’s death as a significant loss for the film industry.
In an interview, Jadhav shared, “This is very tragic. I met him just 15 days ago at his farmhouse during Ganesh Chaturthi. I had no idea that our first meeting would be our last. He was a powerful artist and a remarkable human being.”
Reflecting on his admiration for Patekar, Jadhav noted, “I have watched his films since childhood and have always admired his acting. He garnered a massive fan following through his talent. When I met him, he was just as I had seen him on screen. He was a truly great artist, and I say this as a fan.”
Jadhav revealed that Patekar spent much of his time in Pune. In the months leading up to his death, he enjoyed watching Patekar’s comedic scenes from the film “Welcome” with friends. Feeling a connection since both hailed from Pune, Jadhav reached out to Patekar and received a call back within half an hour. They met on September 24, and Jadhav expressed a desire to see him again, which sadly could not happen.
“We all think we have plenty of time, but we never know what might happen,” Jadhav lamented. “This morning, as I drove from Pune to Mumbai, I received the news of his passing. It is incredibly sad. His death is a tremendous loss for the film industry and for Maharashtra, as he was a proud Marathi. May God give his family the strength to bear this sorrow.”
