BJPs Victory Crucial to Teach Congress a Lesson, Says Yediyurappa

Davanagere, March 24: Former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa stated on Monday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will secure a significant victory in the upcoming by-elections for the Davanagere South and Bagalkot assembly constituencies. He emphasized the necessity of bringing the BJP to power to teach Congress a lesson.

Speaking to reporters, Yediyurappa noted that the public is fed up with the governance style of the Congress-led state government. “They have more than enough majority. The people of the state are eager for change. I appeal to the voters of both assembly seats to ensure a BJP victory and teach Congress a lesson,” he said.

In response to a question, Yediyurappa claimed that the Muslim community has recognized Congress’s betrayal and urged them to support the administration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi after witnessing his governance.

He accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of making irresponsible statements in light of the impending defeat in the by-elections.

Yediyurappa further stated that the political atmosphere in Karnataka is more favorable than expected. “Our (BJP) candidate has just filed nomination, and I am confident that our candidates will win by a large margin in both places,” he added.

Meanwhile, Yediyurappa’s son and state BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra remarked, “The shameless Congress government shows no concern for the state’s development. The BJP will achieve a significant victory in Bagalkot. No funds have been allocated for Bagalkot’s development, which has allowed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to politically revive himself.”

He made these comments during a massive roadshow before the nomination filing of BJP candidate Veeranna Charantimath for the Bagalkot assembly by-election.

Vijayendra criticized Siddaramaiah for failing to develop Bagalkot and urged the public to compare the funds allocated during the tenures of former Chief Ministers Yediyurappa, Jagadish Shettar, and Basavaraj Bommai.

He asserted that Congress will face defeat in the Bagalkot by-election and that nothing can stop the BJP from winning. “The aware voters of Bagalkot have already made up their minds. The public made a mistake once, and they will not repeat it,” he stated.

Accusing the state government of preventing Hindus from celebrating festivals, Vijayendra mentioned that a peaceful procession for Shivaji Jayanti was also not permitted in Bagalkot.

“This is an ‘anti-Hindu’ Congress government, and it must be uprooted from Karnataka,” he added.

He also claimed that there are no caste divisions or internal factions within the BJP, while accusing Congress leaders of misappropriating funds allocated for Dalits and spending millions to mislead voters.

Vijayendra urged the public not to allow such practices and called on BJP workers to unite for a historic victory for candidate Charantimath.
