Hailakandi, April 5: The BJP is fully committed to its campaign for the Assam Assembly elections. Party MPs from Delhi have been summoned to support the election efforts. Among them, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari arrived in Hailakandi on Sunday to rally support for the party’s candidates.
During a media interaction, Tiwari asserted that the BJP is making a remarkable comeback in Assam. He launched a strong attack on the Congress party, stating that they have exploited the state for years. He emphasized that Congress is only capable of appeasement politics and lacks a roadmap for public welfare. In contrast, he highlighted the BJP government’s initiatives, such as improving train services and simplifying travel for the public. The BJP is also providing land leases and essential resources to the poor.
Tiwari expressed confidence in the BJP’s resurgence in Assam, urging the public to support the party’s candidates to strengthen Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s vision for a developed Assam.
On the other hand, Congress has claimed that the public will vote for them to form the government this time.
It is noteworthy that voting for the 126 Assembly seats in Assam will take place in a single phase on April 9, with results expected on May 4. The Election Commission has made extensive arrangements for security, with approximately 25 million voters set to participate. They assure that fair, transparent, and secure elections will be conducted across all states, enabling every voter to exercise their rights without fear or pressure.
