New Delhi, April 9: BJP MPs have expressed that the dream of a developed India by 2047 can only be realized through women’s leadership, following Prime Minister Modi’s article on the Women’s Reservation Bill.
Rajya Sabha MP Medha Kulkarni, in an interview with a news agency, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his continuous efforts towards women’s empowerment. She stated that providing reservation for women in legislative bodies is a pressing need today. This move will strengthen democracy and promote inclusive participation. It is essential for women to have a dignified and rightful place in the decision-making process. By implementing the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,’ Prime Minister Modi has taken a historic step towards turning these visionary ideals into reality. A special session of Parliament has been convened to ensure the swift and effective implementation of this law.
Kulkarni urged the opposition to support the bill, emphasizing that this is not a political issue. When women are encouraged, they tend to perform exceptionally well.
BJP MP Kamaljeet Sahrawat highlighted that Prime Minister Modi is concerned about half the population and has introduced numerous schemes that directly benefit women. The ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ is progressing towards implementation, reflecting the Prime Minister’s belief that the country will advance only when everyone moves forward together. The increasing participation of women in politics, administration, education, science, and security demonstrates that India is now providing women not only with opportunities but also with a platform for leadership.
He noted that the country’s move towards 33% reservation in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies marks a historic step towards ensuring equal participation for every daughter and sister in the decision-making process. April 16 will symbolize new hope, faith, and rights for millions of women across the nation.
Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma stated that since 2014, Prime Minister Modi has consistently introduced women-centric schemes and policies, creating numerous programs specifically for women. The message from PM Modi is clear: there should be no further delay in women’s reservation. India’s democracy will only be complete when the voices of women are strengthened in its assemblies and Parliament.
