Jaipur, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : BJP’s National General Secretary (Organization) BL Santosh arrived in Jaipur on Friday to evaluate the party’s preparations for the upcoming urban local body elections in Rajasthan. He was welcomed by the state president, Madan Rathore, at the party’s provincial office.
During his visit, Santosh is scheduled to meet with Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Rathore, members of the state core committee, and various legislators. These discussions are expected to cover the party’s electoral strategy, organizational readiness, and booth-level management.
The BJP views the urban local body elections as a crucial test of its organizational strength and electoral machinery ahead of the forthcoming Panchayati Raj and assembly elections. Santosh’s visit is particularly significant as the party seeks to address discontent among leaders and workers following ticket allocations. Protests have erupted in several cities and towns, with rebel candidates also emerging in the fray.
Santosh is anticipated to assess the political landscape in various urban local bodies and evaluate constituencies where official BJP candidates face challenges from rebels or disgruntled party members. The party leadership may explore strategies for reconciling with dissatisfied leaders and workers through dialogue, mediation, and organizational responsibilities. Senior leaders could be tasked with involving these disgruntled members in campaign efforts and party activities.
Meetings will likely focus on strengthening ground-level organizational structures, reviewing booth management, and preparing election teams for different wards. Santosh will gather feedback on the operations of the party’s election war room, campaign activities, and booth-level networks. The leadership is expected to identify organizational weaknesses and areas needing additional political and organizational support.
Separate meetings with party officials managing media and social media are also planned. Discussions will likely emphasize highlighting the state government’s achievements, addressing local citizen issues, and enhancing the party’s communication strategy.
It is uncommon for the BJP’s National General Secretary (Organization) to visit Rajasthan during local body elections. Santosh’s visit signals that the central leadership is closely monitoring these municipal elections. The BJP aims to interpret the results as vital indicators of its organizational strength, electoral management, and the political climate in Rajasthan ahead of the Panchayati Raj and assembly elections.
