Jaipur, March 31: In a sharp response to former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s recent comments, Rajasthan BJP President Madan Rathore stated on Tuesday that Gehlot should move beyond the philosophy of waiting.
He emphasized that Gehlot’s political tenure has come to an end, and it is time to pave the way for a new generation. Rathore remarked that relying solely on hope is futile, stressing that waiting can lead to stagnation.
He advised Gehlot to draw inspiration from traditional ideals of Vaanaprastha and Sannyasa, suggesting he adopt the philosophy of contentment and gracefully step back from active politics.
Criticizing Gehlot’s leadership, Rathore claimed he has consistently contributed to the weakening of the Congress party. Wherever Gehlot was given responsibility, the party’s position deteriorated, reflecting a clear decline in his political influence.
Rathore further noted that Gehlot’s frequent trips to Delhi indicate a lack of autonomy in state-level decision-making.
Targeting dynastic politics, Rathore commented that leadership in Congress has historically been concentrated within a single family, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Indira Gandhi, then Rajiv Gandhi, followed by Sonia Gandhi, and now Rahul Gandhi.
He asserted that such a pattern is inappropriate in a democracy. Rathore emphasized that merit and experience should guide leadership opportunities, and that advancement based solely on family lineage undermines democratic principles.
On the topic of women’s empowerment, Rathore stated that the BJP is fully committed to promoting female leadership, highlighting the presence of trained and capable women ready to take on responsibilities.
Commenting on Govind Singh Dotasra, Rathore accused him of securing administrative positions for his family members, leaving little room for broader political participation.
