Bengaluru, August 30: The BJP has initiated a campaign against the Congress government in Karnataka. BJP MLC N. Ravikumar announced that the party will commence a foot march on September 1. This march will address issues such as government land acquisition and other pressing concerns.
Speaking to a news agency, Ravikumar stated, “The foot march is not solely focused on the Nagendra issue; it encompasses various problems. There is corruption in the KPSC. Farmers have not received any financial aid yet. Under the Gruhalakshmi scheme, every woman is supposed to receive ₹2,000, but no funds have been deposited in their accounts for the past two to three months.”
He accused the government of misappropriating funds, saying, “The money from February-March 2025 has not been disbursed, and we have no idea where ₹5,000 crores have gone. Ministers claim they have released the funds, yet no woman has received any money. This raises a crucial question about where that money has gone. Professors in universities and colleges lack adequate qualifications to teach. The law and order situation in the state is deteriorating, and no development work is taking place. These are just a few of the issues we are marching for.”
On the topic of land acquisition, Ravikumar criticized the Congress government, labeling it as a fully commercialized administration. He remarked, “This government is one that seizes land. They plan to acquire thousands of acres for townships, which farmers are opposing. In Bengaluru, they are taking 5% of park land, which exceeds 1,000 acres. The government will commercialize this land and construct complexes, which we oppose. There has been a noticeable decrease in greenery in Bengaluru. The number of vehicles is increasing significantly, leading to environmental degradation.”
It is noteworthy that the Karnataka BJP is organizing this foot march in protest against the state government’s policies.
