New Delhi, February 22: Ajay Alok, the national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), launched a strong attack on the former governments of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. He accused opposition parties of plundering the state for years.
In an interview, Alok stated that the Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Congress collectively pushed Uttar Pradesh into the ranks of the country’s most backward states for 27 years. He claimed these parties not only exploited UP but also tarnished the image of the entire nation.
“These facts are clear to everyone. For 27 years, these parties were in power, and Uttar Pradesh became the third most backward state in terms of development. The overall condition of the country worsened as well. However, in the last eight years, we have been in power in both Uttar Pradesh and at the center. During this time, Uttar Pradesh has become one of the top three states. In terms of investment, infrastructure, law and order, and employment, UP is now rapidly progressing. Similarly, the country has also entered the ranks of the world’s top four economies. How is this possible? Because we focus on development, not on looting,” Alok emphasized.
He ridiculed the opposition, stating, “The tradition of looting that they initiated is something they cannot escape from now. They have become political wolves. The public has understood their true nature.”
Alok also harshly criticized the Youth Congress‘s shirtless protest at the AI India Impact Summit. He remarked, “The Congress party has completely exposed itself. This is what Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also stated. The entire nation knows that Congress’s politics has become naked. In such a scenario, what was the need for them to strip? This is a testament to their desperation and political bankruptcy.”
In a sarcastic tone, he added, “In our homes, we often see that when a child is born or a wedding occurs, the hijras come. If they are not given money or their demands are not met, they start taking off their clothes. Now, the Congress party has reached that level. Their politics is now solely based on negativity and protests, not on development.”
Speaking about the FIR filed against Swami Avimukteshwaranand, Alok stated, “This is entirely part of the judicial process. The court issued an order, after which the FIR was registered. Now the police will investigate, and actions will be taken according to the law. There is no need to politicize this matter.”
