
Kolkata, March 31: Political activity has intensified ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its fourth list of candidates on Tuesday, announcing several key nominations.
According to the list, Ashutosh Burman has been nominated for the Sitai (SC) constituency, while Girija Shankar Roy will contest from the Natabari seat. Soma Thakur has been selected for the Bagda (SC) constituency, and Uttam Kumar Banik will represent the party from the Magrahat East (SC) seat.
Debangshu Panda is the candidate for the Falta seat, and Debashish Dhar will contest from Sonarpur North. Santosh Pathak has been fielded from the Chaurangi constituency, while Ranjan Kumar Paul will represent the party in Howrah South, and Shyamal Hati in Panchla.
Additionally, Dr. Piyush Kanti Das has been nominated from Chandipur, Pradeep Lodha from Garbeta, Manav Guha from Memari, and Arijit Roy from Barabani.
The BJP has also made a significant change in its second list, now nominating Dalim Roy for the Maynaguri (SC) seat.
The party stated that all these names were finalized after thorough discussions. The BJP is gearing up to contest the upcoming elections with full strength, considering local dynamics and organizational strength in its candidate selection.
It is noteworthy that the elections in West Bengal will be conducted in two phases. Voting for the first phase is scheduled for April 23, while the second phase will take place on April 29. The counting of votes will occur on May 4, with results to be announced thereafter.
