Congress Leaders Extend Greetings on Mahavir Jayanti

New Delhi, March 31: On the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, along with other party leaders, extended their warm wishes to the citizens of India. They emphasized the inspirational teachings of Lord Mahavir for contemporary society.

In a post on his social media account, Kharge wrote, “On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, I extend heartfelt greetings to all citizens. The enduring principles of Lord Mahavir—non-violence, multiple viewpoints, and non-possessiveness—provide profound guidance in addressing today’s challenges. This sacred festival should deepen our commitment to truth, compassion, unity, and brotherhood.”

Rahul Gandhi also shared his wishes on social media, stating, “Wishing everyone a heartfelt Mahavir Jayanti. The teachings of Lord Mahavir on truth, non-violence, sacrifice, and compassion are inspiring for the entire world and illuminate the path for human welfare.”

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed her thoughts on social media, saying, “Lord Mahavir showed humanity the way through his teachings of truth, non-violence, peace, love, and compassion. These values are the essence of our thousands of years of culture. The thoughts and values of our great leaders empower us to face the modern world. Wishing everyone a heartfelt Mahavir Jayanti.”

Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, also conveyed his greetings for Mahavir Jayanti. He posted on social media, “On the auspicious occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes. The message of truth, non-violence, and non-possessiveness from Lord Mahavir is a solution to current global issues. The principle of ‘live and let live’ should guide our violence-stricken world today. The path shown by him inspires us to strengthen our moral values and sense of compassion.”
