BJP Plans Over 500 Rallies for Bengal Elections, PM Modi to Address 11 Gatherings

Kolkata, April 11: Political tensions are rising in West Bengal as the assembly elections approach. To sway the electoral winds in their favor, political parties are mobilizing their resources. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced plans to conduct over 500 rallies for the first phase of voting. These events will feature top leaders from both the central and state levels.

According to party sources, Prime Minister Modi will address 11 rallies, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah will lead 30 gatherings. BJP National President Nitin Gadkari will speak at 10 events, Rajnath Singh at 6, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at 11. Smriti Irani will also conduct 13 rallies.

In addition, Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha will participate in 9 rallies, Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in 8, and actress Kangana Ranaut in 7. Other notable figures like JP Nadda, Mohan Charn Majhi, Rekha Gupta, Babulal Marandi, Arjun Munda, and Hema Malini will also engage in rallies across Bengal.

Meanwhile, state leadership is organizing several gatherings, with state president Samik Bhattacharya holding a total of 24 events. Superstar Mithun Chakraborty and BJP MP Soumendu Adhikari will each conduct 23 rallies for the first phase.

Alongside these rallies, starting April 15, coinciding with the Bengali New Year or Poila Baisakh, the BJP will hold daily press conferences to explain points from their manifesto.

During a rally in Katwa, East Bardhaman, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked on the unprecedented turnout and enthusiasm he witnessed in West Bengal, stating he had never seen such crowds even in his home state of Gujarat.

He emphasized, “In Gujarat, I couldn’t hold rallies like this at noon. You all organize splendid gatherings here. I am impressed. It is clear that change is coming to this state after May 4. These enthusiastic rallies signal the events to come on May 4.”

Modi also promised that if the BJP comes to power in West Bengal, the new government would issue a white paper detailing corruption cases from the past 15 years of Trinamool Congress rule.

It is noteworthy that voting in West Bengal will take place in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with results to be announced on May 4.
