BJP MP Welcomes Himachal Pradesh Election Results, Criticizes Chief Minister Sukhu

New Delhi, June 2: BJP MP Sikandar Kumar has welcomed the results of the Himachal Pradesh Panchayat elections. He targeted the state’s Chief Minister, Sukhu, stating that 97 percent of Hindus in the state have defeated the Congress party.

In a conversation on Tuesday, MP Sikandar Kumar expressed gratitude to the people of Himachal Pradesh. He noted that elections for municipal corporations, urban bodies, and Panchayati Raj institutions were held in the state. Over 80 percent of BJP candidates emerged victorious. The ruling party faced defeat even in the constituencies of the Chief Minister and the state Congress president.

During this discussion, the BJP MP also criticized Chief Minister Sukhu. He remarked, “When Sukhu became Chief Minister, he claimed he was elected by defeating 97 percent of Hindus, but today, those same 97 Hindus have defeated him. He has lost even in his own constituency.”

It is noteworthy that the BJP secured victories in three out of four municipal corporations: Mandi, Dharamshala, and Solan, while the ruling Congress managed to win only in Palampur. Voting for these four municipal corporations took place on May 17, featuring a direct contest between the BJP and Congress.

Additionally, Sikandar Kumar responded to the CBSE controversy. He stated, “Whenever you look at any system, there are bound to be some technical flaws. In a parliamentary committee meeting, it was discussed that such technical issues should not persist, and the relevant department must prepare thoroughly.”

In response to Congress MP Digvijay Singh’s praise for Prime Minister Modi, Sikandar Kumar commented, “Digvijay Singh has praised PM Modi, but their leader Rahul Gandhi cannot express himself in the same way. However, everyone knows that Prime Minister Modi is a capable leader who has positioned the country among the world’s elite nations.”
