Patna, March 30: Bihar BJP leaders have sharply reacted to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s claims of threats to her life. They allege that she is engaging in “emotional blackmail,” asserting that the people of Bengal will vote her out of power this time.
Former Union Minister and BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Choubey commented on Banerjee’s allegations, stating, “Everyone is at risk from her. The lives of citizens are in danger, and whether you go to Kolkata or anywhere in Bengal, people are living in fear.”
Choubey further criticized Banerjee for trying to provoke public sentiment with trivial remarks, insisting that her departure from power is inevitable this time.
Bihar government minister Ram Kripal Yadav also weighed in, telling a news agency, “Many lives have been lost due to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her government. Anyone who dares to speak the truth faces threats. She is merely engaging in ’emotional blackmail.’ The public will no longer be fooled by her and will remove her from power.”
Yadav added, “She has realized that the public is determined to end her rule. That’s why she keeps making various statements. Sometimes she incites violence by saying ‘kill and maim,’ and at other times, she claims that meat and rice will disappear. She is trying to emotionally manipulate people, but it won’t work. She has ruined Bengal in 15 years, and her claims of development are meaningless.”
Bihar minister Dilip Jaiswal also responded to Banerjee’s statements, saying, “Mamata Banerjee is just acting. She should pursue a career in drama. She has deceived the people of West Bengal through her theatrics. Development in Bengal has stagnated, and the people want to leave the state. Therefore, a BJP government in Bengal is certain. This is why Mamata Banerjee is losing her composure.”
