
New Delhi, March 30: The Delhi Police have detained two minors who were attempting to rob a passerby in the South District. Additionally, one adult suspect has been arrested by the Mahrauli police.
According to DCP Anant Mittal, police officers stationed at Gate Number 8 of the Hanuman Temple in Chhatarpur received a tip-off at 6:00 AM on March 27. The report indicated that three individuals were threatening people with a knife and demanding money. A police team quickly arrived near Markandey Mandapam and apprehended the suspects on-site.
The complainant reported that the assailants arrived on a motorcycle, brandished a knife, and attempted to rob him. The police arrested Nadim (30), a resident of Mandi, while two minors were taken into custody. Officers recovered a knife, 100 rupees, and the motorcycle used in the crime. Authorities noted that the suspects had no prior involvement in any criminal activities and this was their first attempt at robbery.
Earlier, on March 29, police in East Delhi’s Ghazipur arrested two suspects in a mobile theft case. Victim Vijender Singh, a gardener, reported that after returning home from the market, he discovered two mobile phones had been stolen within an hour.
The police registered an FIR and initiated an investigation into the theft. During the inquiry, the stolen phones were found to be switched off. Following this, a special team was formed under the guidance of the SHO of Ghazipur and ACP of Madhu Vihar. The team swiftly reviewed footage from 25 to 30 nearby CCTV cameras, leading to the arrest of both thieves, who have a criminal history.
