Chennai, February 22: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader H. Raja has returned home after three weeks of intensive medical treatment. His family confirmed this on Saturday, expressing gratitude for the prayers and support from well-wishers across the country.
In a statement released on the social media platform ‘X’, the family said, “By the grace of God, the prayers of everyone, and the dedicated efforts of the doctors, success has been achieved. H. Raja is fully healthy and has safely returned home from Apollo Hospital.” They noted that doctors have advised him to rest completely for at least four weeks before participating in public events.
The 68-year-old leader collapsed unexpectedly on January 30 while attending a private television program in the Guindy area of Chennai. He was immediately admitted to a nearby hospital and later transferred to Apollo Hospital in Thousand Lights for better treatment. Hospital sources indicated that a blockage was found in a blood vessel in his brain, leading to his admission to the ICU for intensive care under the supervision of a team of specialists.
During his hospitalization, leaders from various political parties visited him to inquire about his health. This included Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who visited the hospital to wish him a speedy recovery. This gesture was appreciated as a symbol of political courtesy and goodwill.
H. Raja, recognized as one of the prominent faces of the BJP in Tamil Nadu, has been active in public life for many years. His sudden health crisis had raised concerns among party workers and supporters. Now, following his discharge from the hospital, his condition is reported to be stable.
Party leaders have urged supporters to follow the doctors’ advice and allow him ample time to recover fully. The family has clarified that he will resume public activities only after completing the prescribed rest period.
