Hyderabad, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : The political climate in Telangana has intensified following serious allegations from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the Congress government, accusing them of plotting to assassinate former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has responded strongly to these claims.
BJP leader T.R. Srinivas labeled the accusations as laughable and outright rejected them during a conversation in Hyderabad. He emphasized KCR’s stature as a prominent leader and one of the key faces of the opposition in the state.
“I am from the BJP, but out of political courtesy, I must say that KCR is among the most significant opposition leaders,” Srinivas stated. He further remarked, “The notion that anyone would attempt to assassinate KCR is preposterous; no one would even think of such a thing. The Congress wouldn’t even dare to dream of it, as doing so would lead to their own political demise.”
Srinivas highlighted KCR’s importance in Telangana politics, suggesting that if the current government were to contemplate such a conspiracy, it would essentially be inviting its own end. “Therefore, Congress cannot entertain such thoughts,” he added.
On speculation regarding a potential alliance with the BRS in the future, Srinivas clarified that there is no question of the BJP aligning with the BRS. He affirmed that the party intends to contest the 2028 assembly elections independently.
“The idea of joining forces with the BRS is out of the question. We will fight the elections alone, aiming to secure as many seats as possible and form the government in 2028. We have always welcomed those influenced by the BJP’s ideology, regardless of their party affiliation, to join us,” he concluded.
