Lucknow, April 8: Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has made a bold claim regarding the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections. He stated that the BJP will secure over 200 seats to form the government in Bengal.
Speaking to the media in Lucknow, Maurya emphasized that a storm is brewing in favor of the BJP in Bengal. He noted that the public has made up its mind to support Prime Minister Modi, firmly embracing the BJP and its lotus symbol. “For 25 years, the communists have looted and devastated Bengal. For the past 15 years, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has created chaos in the state. The TMC has become a gang of infiltrators and corrupt individuals. The current atmosphere is favorable for the BJP, and we will win more than 200 out of 294 seats. Mamata Banerjee’s departure is certain on May 4,” he asserted.
In response to Mamata Banerjee’s comments regarding the SIR issue, Maurya stated that SIR is a procedural matter. He explained that the Election Commission is a constitutional body that allows time for including any names that may have been missed during an election campaign. “This is not the first time SIR has occurred; the Election Commission has conducted this process periodically,” he added.
Maurya further remarked that questioning the SIR reflects Banerjee’s fear, suggesting she is conceding defeat even before the election results are announced. He mentioned that names of infiltrators have been removed from the voter list, which has left her agitated. “Under TMC’s rule, law and order in Bengal has collapsed. Once the BJP comes to power, the rule of law will be restored,” he asserted.
Highlighting the significance of the Mudra Scheme, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that under PM Modi’s visionary leadership, the ‘Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana’ has become a transformative journey that fulfills the dreams of the masses over the past 11 years. He noted that in Uttar Pradesh, the Mudra Scheme has accelerated self-employment and connected people to economic empowerment. This initiative has become a powerful force in realizing the vision of a ‘Developed India.’
