Guwahati, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : Devashish Sharma, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, has expressed strong confidence in his chances of victory. Speaking in Guwahati on September 16, he highlighted the broad support he anticipates from across the constituency, including minority-dominated areas.
Sharma asserted that the BJP is fully prepared for the electoral contest and believes in the party’s success. He extended good wishes to candidates from other political parties, emphasizing a spirit of healthy competition.
During his campaign preparations, Sharma thanked the people of Nagaon, Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the state BJP president, as well as ministers and legislators for their support.
He urged voters to prioritize development and long-term welfare over emotional issues, referencing the achievements of both the central and Assam state governments. Sharma expressed confidence that even in minority areas, voters are keen on development, asserting that the BJP is capable of fulfilling their aspirations. He believes the party will receive substantial support from minority voters and perform strongly in the by-election.
