Lucknow, October 13 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath celebrated the third day of Sharadiya Navratri by honoring the goddess Chandraghanta. In a post on social media platform X, he emphasized that the initiatives of the double-engine government are dedicated to the respect, self-esteem, and dignified life of women.
Adityanath described the divine form of Goddess Chandraghanta as a symbol of women’s strength, dignity, and indomitable courage. He conveyed that the safety, respect, and self-esteem of women are the foundation of a strong and prosperous society. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the double-engine government is establishing new benchmarks for women’s empowerment through good governance.
He noted that prior to 2017, lawlessness had adversely affected the safety and respect of women in the state. During that time, the focus was on empowering the families of those in power rather than the empowerment of mothers and sisters. Now, initiatives like “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” are aimed at safeguarding the existence of daughters and raising awareness about education. The Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana provides support for their bright futures, while the Chief Minister’s Mass Marriage Scheme ensures dignified marriages. Other programs include the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, which supports motherhood, and the Ujjwala scheme, which helps families move away from smoke. The government also offers free bus travel for women over 60 and pensions for the elderly, ensuring social security for all.
Earlier, Adityanath extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Uttar Pradesh on the auspicious occasion of Navratri. He prayed to Goddess Durga for happiness, peace, prosperity, and well-being in everyone’s lives. The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees visiting temples during the festival.
He called for measures to facilitate easy access to temples, maintain cleanliness, ensure adequate lighting, provide drinking water, and meet other essential needs. Adityanath also urged devotees to help maintain cleanliness during the festivities.
