Patna, October 13 (Daily Kiran) : Bihar has seen significant advancements over the past decade, particularly in education and health, according to state minister Dilip Jayaswal. Speaking in Patna, he expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for these developments.
During a recent cabinet meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary presented a proposal acknowledging the new chapter of development in Bihar under Modi’s leadership. The entire cabinet unanimously thanked the Prime Minister and extended their best wishes.
Jayawsal highlighted the transformation of infrastructure, particularly regarding bridges over the Ganges River. Previously, only one bridge existed at Mokama, forcing residents to travel by boat from Sonpur to Patna. Now, several new bridges, including the JP Setu and Mahatma Gandhi Setu, have been constructed, vastly improving connectivity.
In terms of air travel, he noted that the Patna Airport has evolved from a basic facility to one of the country’s best. New airports have been established in Darbhanga and Purnea, with plans for additional airports in Bhagalpur and other locations. This marks a significant step forward for air connectivity in Bihar.
The railway sector has also undergone a major transformation. New railway bridges have been built, and stations are being modernized with escalators and lifts. Modern trains, including Vande Bharat, are now operational, and plans for a bullet train connecting Patna to Kishanganj are underway.
Jayawsal pointed out several major road projects, including the Gorakhpur-Siliguri and Haldia-Varanasi corridors, which are enhancing the state’s road infrastructure. In education, Bihar has received 22 new central schools, with the state government providing land for their establishment.
He concluded by stating that the progress made under Modi’s leadership has garnered immense appreciation from Bihar’s 140 million residents.
In response to Rahul Gandhi‘s recent Supreme Court march, Jayaswal criticized the opposition, claiming they have become ineffective and disconnected from the public. He urged them to engage with the community rather than focusing on political theatrics in Delhi and Patna.
Regarding allegations against electronic voting machines (EVMs), he challenged the opposition to question the legitimacy of governments formed in states where they are in power, emphasizing that mere protests would not lead to change.
Jayawsal’s remarks encapsulate the optimism surrounding Bihar’s development trajectory under the current administration.
