Bihars TRE-4 Advertisement Released Amid Student Protests for Fair Recruitment Process

Patna, August 18: The release of the advertisement for the fourth phase of teacher recruitment in Bihar has sparked joy among candidates. However, student leaders have reiterated their demands regarding the recruitment process. The Bihar Public Service Commission issued the TRE-4 advertisement amidst the ongoing ‘Student Justice Satyagraha’ in Gardanibagh, which addresses various competitive examination issues.

Student leader Dilip Kumar stated that the release of the TRE-4 advertisement marks a significant achievement after nearly a year of struggle. He noted that the advertisement was published just four hours after the commencement of the Satyagraha. However, he clarified that other demands from the movement remain unaddressed.

Kumar expressed, “The long-awaited TRE-4 advertisement has finally been released, bringing some happiness. Students have fought for this for over a year, facing police brutality, arrests, and even inquiries about my family.”

He emphasized that the primary demand of the candidates is for the TRE-4 examination to be conducted in a single phase, similar to the previous TRE-1, TRE-2, and TRE-3 exams.

Kumar also insisted that there should be no negative marking in the TRE-4 exam. He suggested that if the Bihar government and the commission wish to implement a new system like that for preliminary and main exams, it should be introduced in the fifth phase of teacher recruitment.

He warned that significant delays have already occurred in the TRE-4 process, and further delays due to new procedures should be avoided. If their demands are not met, they will once again call for the resignation of the education minister.

The student leader added that their demands extend beyond teacher recruitment. They are also calling for the announcement of exam dates for the Bihar Staff Selection Commission, the removal of benefits based on the experience of contract workers, the conduct of offline exams, and the recruitment of librarians.

Additionally, they are advocating for transparency in the recruitment process for police officers and other competitive exams. Kumar stated that candidates should receive carbon copies of question papers and OMR sheets after the exam. The answer key should be released within 10 to 15 days, along with cut-off marks and scores for all candidates. He affirmed that the ‘Student Justice Satyagraha’ will continue to address these issues.
