Bihars Crime Control Measures: A Response to Opposition Criticism

Patna, May 20: The Bihar government’s decision to set up support camps in every panchayat has been welcomed by JDU spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad. He emphasized that this initiative is crucial for improving the work culture within the government.

Prasad pointed out that delays in addressing the public’s issues lead to increased frustration among citizens. Under the leadership of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, laws like RTPs were implemented, benefiting the populace significantly. Now, under Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, the new government has not only continued this system but also ensured its effective execution, with several ministers visiting various camps. He claimed that this initiative would yield long-term benefits, allowing the people of Bihar to receive timely justice and services.

In response to questions regarding alleged encounters in Bihar, he stated that whether termed encounters or half-encounters, the key message is that criminals can no longer roam freely in Bihar. If someone commits a crime, they will face punishment. The Bihar police’s action reports indicate that criminals are being apprehended shortly after incidents occur. In several cases, police have had to respond in self-defense when attacked by criminals. He urged that, rather than focusing solely on criminals, attention should also be given to the innocent lives that criminals are ruining.

Reacting to Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav’s criticisms regarding crime and incidents against women, the JDU leader remarked that shedding ‘crocodile tears’ achieves nothing. The opposition had previously raised similar issues, but the public responded decisively. The governance and policing model established under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is now being advanced under Samrat Chaudhary’s leadership, ensuring swift arrests and stringent actions against criminals.

On the strike by medicine traders, he acknowledged that protesting is a democratic right for any organization. However, the Chemist and Druggist Association must understand that the availability of life-saving medications should not be compromised. It is crucial to find solutions to public issues and ensure that patients do not face difficulties due to the protests.

Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s questions about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign tours, he criticized Gandhi’s statements as increasingly immature for a leader of the opposition. Comparing the complexities of global diplomacy to domestic expenses is both absurd and shameful. Instructions to reduce the number of vehicles in the Prime Minister’s convoy have already been issued, and BJP-ruled states are adhering to this. However, India’s global role is vital, and the Prime Minister’s foreign visits are essential for national interests.

Addressing Tejashwi Yadav’s accusations about rising petrol prices, he stated that one cannot ignore global circumstances. The crisis in West Asia has led to economic pressures in the US, Europe, and other developed countries, causing a significant rise in petroleum prices. Economists have warned of a decline in global GDP growth rates and increasing inflation.

The JDU spokesperson concluded that the Indian government has managed to shield citizens from prolonged price hikes. Although the recent increases have caused inconvenience, tough decisions are sometimes necessary to stabilize the economy. Political accusations without understanding these circumstances do not reflect a constructive opposition.
