Patna, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : Efforts to aid flood-affected regions in Bihar are gaining momentum as local leaders contribute to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. On Saturday, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Minister of Road Construction Kumar Shailendra each donated a month’s salary to the fund, presenting their checks to Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary at the Lok Seva Sadan in Patna.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary emphasized the importance of the relief fund as a vital resource for assisting those in need. He highlighted that contributions from capable members of society can significantly enhance the effectiveness of relief efforts.
Earlier, Chief Minister Chaudhary himself donated ₹2.70 lakh from his salary to the relief fund, urging affluent individuals and the community at large to contribute generously in light of the ongoing flood situation.
Additionally, Bihar BJP President Sanjay Sarawagi has already contributed ₹51 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support flood victims. He stated that all BJP legislators and MPs would also donate a month’s salary to assist those affected.
National BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Nitin Nawin has also made a significant contribution, donating ₹6.35 lakh from three months’ salary to the relief fund.
Currently, 15 districts in Bihar are reported to be affected by flooding. Relief and rescue operations are underway, with the government stressing the need for administrative machinery to remain active and ensure essential services reach those in need.
