Bihar MLC Elections: JD(U) Emphasizes Social Balance, Women and Backward Classes Get Opportunities

Patna, June 6: The Janata Dal United (JD(U)) has announced its candidates for the Bihar Legislative Council (MLC) elections, emphasizing social balance in its strategy. National spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan stated that both JD(U) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have made their candidate announcements, ensuring that social equity is prioritized.

Ranjan highlighted that the JD(U) list reflects Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s commitment to women’s empowerment. The party has ensured adequate representation for women, aiming to involve half of the population in the political process. He noted that this initiative is significant not only politically but also socially.

The party has also prioritized the representation of marginalized and neglected communities. Special attention has been given to candidates from the extremely backward and backward classes. Among the announced candidates is Nishant Kumar, recognized as a popular young leader. Additionally, Dr. Bharti Mehta, the party’s state spokesperson, and Shivani Prajapati, a former chairperson of the West Champaran district council, have also been nominated. Lalit Prasad has also secured a place on the list.

Ranjan mentioned that the selection of these candidates was made with a focus on the party’s organizational strength and social balance. He asserted that this decision was reached through mutual agreement and coordination among coalition partners, showcasing the unity of the alliance.

He further stated that the social structure has been balanced among the BJP, JD(U), and other coalition parties. The announcement of candidates, made with complete coordination and consensus among the coalition partners, clearly protects the interests of all societal groups.

In response to ongoing controversies related to coaching institutes in Patna, Ranjan addressed the dispute between Khan Sir and Roshan Anand, the operator of Gyan Bindu Coaching. Following Anand’s arrest, a case has now been filed against Khan Sir as well. The Patna police are investigating the matter, and action will be taken against anyone found guilty.
