
Patna, March 23: The Bihar School Examination Board has released the results for the Intermediate (12th grade) exams held in February. This year, female students have once again excelled, with an overall pass rate of 85.19% among candidates.
Bihar’s Education Minister, Sunil Kumar, congratulated all successful students upon announcing the results. Anand Kishore, the chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board, reported that boys achieved a pass rate of 84.09%, while girls had a higher success rate of 86.23%.
Among the 26 toppers in the merit list, 19 are female students. In the Arts and Commerce streams, female students topped the charts, while a male student secured the highest marks in the Science stream. Aditya Prakash Aman from Samastipur emerged as the state topper in Science with 481 marks, achieving a percentage of 96%. In the Arts stream, Ritu Kumari scored 489 marks to claim the top position, while Nishoo Kumari topped the Commerce stream with 479 marks.
Minister Sunil Kumar highlighted that Bihar has once again set a precedent by being the first in the country to release Intermediate exam results. Last year, the pass rate was 86.56%, making this year’s results approximately one percentage point lower. In 2025, Priya Jaiswal from West Champaran topped the Science stream with 484 marks, while Ankita Kumari from Vaishali and Shakib Shah from Buxar both scored 473 marks (94.6%) in the Arts stream. Roshni Kumari from Vaishali topped the Commerce stream with 475 marks.
