Nagaland Hosts Statewide Mega Job Fair to Connect Youth with Global Opportunities

Kohima, March 22: A statewide Mega Job Fair for 2026 was held on Saturday at the Integrated Business Hub and Innovation Center in Dimapur, Nagaland. This event provided extensive employment opportunities across various sectors.

Organized by the Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM), the fair was supported by the Nagaland Investment and Development Authority (IDAN), the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) in Kohima, and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

The initiative aimed to connect job seekers with potential employers in domestic, national, and international markets.

During the inauguration of the Job Fair 2026, Abu Metha, advisor to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and president of IDAN, launched the NSEDM portal.

In his address, Metha conveyed best wishes on behalf of Chief Minister Rio and praised the organizing team led by Meripeni Naguli, the project lead for NSEDM and IDAN. He emphasized that the job fair became a reality due to months of planning, outreach, and coordination, creating opportunities for thousands of youth.

Metha congratulated participants for taking the initiative to attend the event, stating that “showing up” is the first and most crucial step in building a career.

He encouraged candidates to be honest and authentic during interviews, stressing that maintaining personal identity and originality is more important than trying to impress others.

Highlighting the importance of continuous learning, he stated that knowledge is power in today’s world, and technology has made access to information incredibly easy.

Metha urged youth to creatively utilize digital tools to enhance their skills and stay competitive.

He also remarked that while the first job may not always be a “dream job,” it should be viewed as a significant step toward future success.

He emphasized that although talent and skills can open new doors, ultimately, character and integrity determine long-term growth and progress.
