Bihar Deputy CM Warns Revenue Staff Amid Ongoing Strike

Patna, March 10: Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha addressed the ongoing strike by revenue department officials on Tuesday. He emphasized that no conspiracy would succeed when intentions are clear. The policies of the double-engine government will thrive, rewarding those who work with transparency, honesty, and dedication. He asserted that politics based on pressure and coercion would not prevail.

On March 9, Sinha warned the revenue and land reform department employees that failure to end their protest promptly could lead to suspensions. Alternative arrangements will be made for departmental operations in their absence.

During a press interaction, Sinha urged circle officers not to be swayed by a few individuals and to return to work promptly. He made it clear that the government’s sympathy should not be mistaken for weakness. Strict action will be taken against those who disrupt public services.

The Deputy CM also stated that land-related matters without objections should be resolved within 14 days. Minor corrections in land records should take 35 days, while complex cases will have a resolution timeframe of 75 days, and revisions should be completed in 15 days.

He noted that last August, a target was set to process around 4.6 million applications by March 31, with 4 million of these being for revisions. This initiative has been systematically planned, following the recent strike by circle officers and now by the staff.

Sinha insisted that once the strike is over, applications must be processed immediately. He announced that every Saturday, discussions will be held at the circle office, attended by police officers. This will be monitored by district DM and SP officials. The Deputy CM also mentioned that revenue officers would address public grievances at the panchayat level instead of the circle level, with deadlines established for resolving cases in revenue courts.
