Patna, June 13: The Bihar Congress staged a protest on Saturday against the NEET UG exam paper leak and irregularities in the CBSE results and evaluation process. The demonstration was led by state Congress president Rajesh Ram.
Rajesh Ram accused that in the past 12 years, 89 exam question papers have been leaked. He highlighted that the NEET exam papers, conducted under the NTA, have been leaked four times, raising serious questions about the integrity of the central examination system. He claimed that the central government has created a corrupt system that favors children from wealthy families, allowing them to secure medical seats and jobs, while students from poorer backgrounds are left disappointed.
He stated that the education system has completely collapsed under the BJP-led NDA government. The Congress party is continuously fighting on the streets to change this system and secure the future of students.
“We are on the streets today for the rights of Bihar’s students,” he said. He urged the current government to ensure transparency in the NEET exams conducted by the NTA and to address the paper leak issue, especially with the upcoming exam scheduled for June 21. He also raised concerns about the CBSE system.
Dr. Madan Mohan Jha, the leader of the party in the Legislative Council, criticized the central government for ruining the education system over the past 12 years. He remarked that the current education minister has not even shown empathy towards the 2.2 million affected students, let alone resign on moral grounds. His indifference indicates that the central government has entrusted him with the responsibility of ruining educational activities, which is why Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not demanded his resignation.
The protesters demanded the dismissal of the education minister. Police stopped the demonstrators near Marine Drive Chowk, leading to their discontent. They sat in protest and raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
During the protest, Congress workers also organized a rally to express their dissent. Notable participants included Kapildev Prasad Yadav, chairman of the disciplinary committee, former minister Kripanath Pathak, media chairman Rajesh Rathod, and a large number of party workers.
