Kolkata, May 18: A new chapter is unfolding in West Bengal following the recent change in government. In line with other BJP-ruled states, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has initiated a public grievance forum to address citizens’ issues starting Monday. Residents from his own village also attended to voice their concerns.
The inaugural forum took place at the BJP office in Salt Lake, Kolkata, where a large crowd gathered to meet the Chief Minister. Adhikari listened to the grievances one by one and provided directives to the officials present.
During this first session of the ‘Janata Darbar,’ party leader Locket Chatterjee remarked, “This is a positive initiative, and its impact is already visible. Many people stood in line today. The Chief Minister will be here every Monday to listen to the public and work on resolving their issues.”
Chatterjee noted that numerous individuals attended, presenting a variety of issues for the Chief Minister’s attention. “Whatever the problem, the Chief Minister is trying to find a solution,” he added.
Members of the Hindu Security Committee also brought their complaints to the forum. Committee member Vrindavan Das Maharaj stated, “Members from different parts of Bengal have come here.” He expressed concerns about women’s safety in the state under the previous government, emphasizing their demand for improved security measures.
Another member of the committee mentioned, “Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is from our village. We came here because while many things are fine in our area, there are specific issues he may not be aware of. We wanted to inform him about these problems.”
