
Kolkata, March 29: Renowned and popular Bengali actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee has passed away. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her sorrow over his demise.
In a post on the social media platform X, Mamata Banerjee stated, “I am deeply shocked to learn that the talented, young, and popular actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee has suddenly left us. I cannot comprehend what has happened. He was one of my favorite actors and individuals.”
Mamata Banerjee extended her heartfelt condolences to his grieving family, relatives, and countless fans. She noted that Rahul’s sudden passing is an irreplaceable loss for the Bengali acting community, Tollywood, and Telewood.
Rahul Arunoday Banerjee was a beloved Bengali actor and writer. He sustained injuries during a shooting accident, but unfortunately, his life could not be saved. Coming from a family of theatre artists, Rahul made his stage debut at just three years old. He worked extensively in Bengali cinema and television.
His unexpected death on Sunday has sent shockwaves through the Bengali film and television industry. Many considered him a vital part of Tollywood. He gained significant recognition from the hit film “Chirodini Tumi Je Amar” in 2008, which made him popular among Bengali audiences.
Rahul also appeared in the show “Sahaj Katha,” which further boosted his popularity. An avid reader and writer, he debuted in Tollywood with Raj Chakraborty’s film “Chirodini Tumi Je Amar.” The songs from that film remain popular even years later, and it featured his real-life wife, Priyanka Sarkar.
