
New Delhi, March 16: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) successfully hosted another edition of the ‘Naman’ awards. This annual ceremony recognizes the top performers in Indian cricket. Legendary players Sachin Tendulkar and Anil Kumble congratulated their former teammates Rahul Dravid and Roger Binny, a member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team, for their achievements.
Sachin Tendulkar expressed on X, “A special night for Indian cricket. Celebrating five ICC title-winning teams at the Naman Awards, bringing together the past, present, and future under one roof. A historic achievement. Congratulations to my friend Rahul Dravid on receiving the Colonel C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.”
He also congratulated Roger Binny, former captain Mithali Raj, and other winners like Smriti Mandhana and Shubman Gill.
Anil Kumble shared on X, “A special award night to celebrate the journey of Indian cricket. It was wonderful to see five ICC title-winning teams together at the BCCI Naman Awards. I am thrilled for my dear friend Rahul Dravid on receiving the Colonel C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award. Congratulations to my first captain Roger Binny, Mithali Raj, Shubman Gill, Smriti Mandhana, and all the award recipients.”
The award ceremony took place on Sunday night, attended by BCCI officials and ICC President Jay Shah. Members of the teams that won five ICC titles in the past year across women’s, men’s, and youth categories were present during the event.
Rahul Dravid, Roger Binny, and Mithali Raj were honored with the Colonel C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.
Other notable awards included Shubman Gill, captain of the Indian men’s ODI and Test teams, who received the Polly Umrigar Award for the 2024-25 season, and Smriti Mandhana, who was named Best International Cricketer (Women).
Indian women’s team opener Shafali Verma and Ayush Mhatre, the captain who recently led the Under-19 team to victory, were also recognized for their outstanding performances in the 2024-25 domestic season.
N. Shree Charani and Harshit Rana received the Best International Debut Award. The Mumbai Cricket Association was awarded for Best Performance in the 2024-25 BCCI Domestic Tournament.
