Delhi Assembly to Honor Martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev on Martyrs Day

New Delhi, March 22: The Delhi Assembly Secretariat will hold a program on Monday to pay tribute to martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev on the anniversary of their sacrifice.

During this occasion, Speaker Vijender Gupta, along with members of the council of ministers, legislators, and notable freedom fighters, will offer floral tributes to the martyrs.

This event will coincide with the commencement of the second part of the fourth session (Budget Session) of the eighth assembly later that day. Prior to this, the Speaker reviewed the arrangements made for the assembly building ahead of the budget session scheduled from March 23 to 25.

Vijender Gupta stated, “The upcoming budget session should reflect the best parliamentary traditions, where debates are informative, conduct is restrained, and every intervention contributes meaningfully to the public purpose. We are moving forward with a shared commitment to maintain the dignity of the house and ensure discussions of the highest level during this session.”

The Speaker conducted a comprehensive review to assess all operational and procedural aspects within the assembly building, emphasizing the need for smooth, efficient, and orderly proceedings.

He highlighted the importance of coordinated preparation, noting that special attention has been given to the collaboration between legislative, security, and technical teams to ensure that all systems are fully operational before the session.

In a continuous effort towards technology-enabled legislative functioning, tablets will be provided at all members’ desks, allowing seamless and real-time access to legislative work, official documents, and house proceedings.

Additionally, the Delhi Assembly will launch an internal AI-enabled chatbot named ‘Vidhan Saathi,’ designed to serve as a dedicated legislative research assistant for members.

The assembly secretariat stated that this platform will provide structured, data-supported responses, assist in the analysis of bills, acts, and policy matters, and empower members to engage in legislative work with greater clarity and depth.
