Mumbai, March 22: In Palamu district of Jharkhand, police have made significant progress in a case involving extortion and threats against a marble businessman. Three suspects have been arrested, while efforts continue to locate a fourth individual. The arrested suspects have been identified as Ravishankar Kumar Singh, also known as Chhotu Singh, Aman Kumar Chaurasia, and Shubham Keshari, all residents of Palamu.
The case was registered on March 19 at the Hussainabad police station. Following this, a special team was formed under the direction of SP Rishma Ramesh to investigate the matter. The investigation revealed that the main suspect, Ravishankar, was plotting the extortion scheme with his accomplices.
To evade capture, the suspects used stolen mobile phones and SIM cards to issue threats. According to police reports, Shubham Keshari and Aman Chaurasia targeted intoxicated individuals to steal their mobile devices. These stolen phones and SIM cards were then handed over to the main suspect, who used them for making threats.
Police acted swiftly, apprehending the three suspects and recovering the mobile phones, SIM cards, and other stolen items used in the threats. All three have been placed in judicial custody. A fourth suspect, Prince Kumar, also known as Prince Mehta, remains at large, and police are actively conducting raids to apprehend him.
Authorities noted that the arrested individuals have prior criminal records, with various cases filed against them at different police stations. The local police team and the technical branch played a crucial role in this operation.
