Jaipur, October 18 (Daily Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Kota unit on Saturday arrested Baran Municipal Council Commissioner Moti Shankar Nagar and Assistant Fire Officer Uvesh Sheikh for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹2.5 lakh.

According to ADG (ACB) Smita Srivastava, a complaint was filed with the ACB Kota office on October 9, 2025, alleging that the two officials had demanded a ₹5 lakh bribe from a complainant in exchange for not obstructing his business operations.
Following the complaint, verification of the bribe demand was carried out on October 15 and 17, confirming the allegations. Acting on the directions of the ACB Headquarters, a trap was laid today under the supervision of DIG Anand Sharma and Additional SP Vijay Swarnkar.
During the operation, Uvesh Sheikh accepted ₹2.5 lakh from the complainant at his office and placed the money in the storage compartment of his scooter. He was caught red-handed by the ACB team while leaving the premises. Subsequently, Commissioner Moti Shankar Nagar was detained from his government residence.
Officials said interrogation and further legal proceedings are underway under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The ACB continues its investigation under the supervision of DIG Anand Sharma.
