New Delhi, November 5 (Daily Kiran): If you have important banking work today, you might want to check before heading out. On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, banks in several parts of the country will remain closed on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartik Purnima, and Rasa Purnima.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the November 2025 bank holiday list, which shows that banks in most Indian states will observe a public holiday today. However, as holidays are determined state-wise, customers are advised to check their regional RBI Bank Holiday Calendar before visiting any branch.
Where Banks Are Closed Today
According to the RBI list, banks will remain closed today in Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu and Srinagar, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, West Bengal, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh.
That means banking services across most of India will not be available at physical branches today due to Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima celebrations.

Use Digital Banking During Holidays
If your branch is closed today, you can still access most services through online and mobile banking. Customers can perform transactions such as NEFT/RTGS money transfers, credit or debit card payments, online cheque or DD requests, and account updates digitally. ATM and UPI services will also function normally, allowing users to withdraw cash or make payments without interruption.
