Lucknow, August 28: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has announced a significant rally to Mathura, demanding the construction of a grand temple at Krishna Janmabhoomi and the removal of meat, fish, and liquor shops from the parikrama path. Posters have been put up at various intersections in Lucknow, urging people to join the proposed ‘Mathura Kooch Yatra’ on August 30.
The posters from the VHP state, “Ayodhya has been achieved, now it’s Mathura’s turn,” and “Every Sanatani’s voice, no half measures, only Radhe-Radhe in Mathura.” The organization emphasizes that, following Ayodhya, it will raise issues related to the sanctity of religious sites and the faith of devotees in Mathura.
Gopal Rai, the international president of VHP, announced that the rally will commence at 9 AM from the VHP office in Lucknow. He mentioned that workers from various districts will join the rally along the way. Rai claims that approximately 25,000 activists and saints will participate.
He stated that the organization will submit a memorandum to the district administration, demanding an immediate ban on the sale of meat, fish, and liquor along the parikrama path in Mathura. Additionally, they will present their demand for the construction of a grand temple at Krishna Janmabhoomi to the government and administration.
Drawing a parallel with Ayodhya, Rai emphasized that just as a grand temple was constructed there and measures were taken to restrict the sale of meat and liquor, similar actions should be implemented in Mathura. He urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to fulfill the demand for a grand temple in both Kashi and Mathura.
Pankaj Pradhan, the national general secretary of VHP, reiterated the demand for a grand temple in Mathura. He urged the government to take prompt action to halt the sale of meat and liquor around the temple area. The objective of the Mathura Kooch Yatra is to convey their demands to the administration and government. The organization has called upon activists and saints to participate in large numbers.
He added that they will depart from Lucknow, with workers joining along the route, and all will arrive together in Mathura to present their demands to the administration, aiming for an immediate ban on the sale of meat, fish, and liquor.
