
New Delhi, May 26: The Congress party has announced new leadership for the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) in the Assam Assembly. According to a press release issued by party General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, the party president has approved these appointments with immediate effect.
Senior leader Wajed Ali Chowdhury has been appointed as the leader of the Congress Legislative Party in Assam. Joy Prakash Das has been designated as the deputy leader of the legislative party.
Wajed Ali Chowdhury is recognized as a senior and influential leader within Assam’s political landscape. He has been active in social work and politics for many years and is also a successful businessman. Given his extensive experience in party organization and the assembly, Congress has entrusted him with this significant responsibility.
Dr. Joy Prakash Das, a Congress MLA from the Nabboicha (SC) assembly constituency in Assam, has a strong background in education. He holds a PhD from Assam Agricultural University in Jorhat. The party leadership hopes that his experience and academic background will aid in strengthening the organization.
