Dubai, September 21 (Kiran News): Team India continued their dominant run in the Asia Cup 2025, defeating arch-rivals Pakistan for the second time in the tournament. In the Super-4 clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday night, India chased down a target of 172 runs with 7 balls to spare, winning by 6 wickets.

Abhishek Sharma Stars with the Bat

Chasing 172, young opener Abhishek Sharma played a brilliant knock of 74 runs off just 39 balls, smashing 6 fours and 5 sixes. His explosive batting set the tone for India’s chase and earned him the Player of the Match award.

Vice-captain Shubman Gill added 47 runs off 28 balls with 8 boundaries, while Tilak Varma guided India home with an unbeaten 30 runs from 19 balls, which included 2 sixes and 2 fours.

For Pakistan, Haris Rauf picked up 2 wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf claimed one each.

Pakistan’s Innings

Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Pakistan posted 171/5 in 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with a steady 58 off 45 balls. Skipper Salman Agha remained unbeaten on 17, while Faheem Ashraf (20* off 8) provided a late flourish.

Among Indian bowlers, Shivam Dube impressed with 2/33 in 4 overs, while Kuldeep Yadav and Hardik Pandya took a wicket apiece.

With this win, India have made a strong start in the Super-4 stage and taken a big step towards securing a place in the Asia Cup 2025 final.
