London, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : In London, Anahat Singh’s run in the London Squash Classic came to an end on September 5, 2026, as she faced a defeat in the quarterfinals against Malaysia’s third seed, Shivangari Subramaniam.
The reigning World Junior Champion struggled to find her footing from the start. Shivangari dominated the rallies, pushing Anahat back on the court and securing a swift victory in just 17 minutes with scores of 11-4, 11-4.
This defeat marks the conclusion of Anahat’s journey in the USD 144,000 PSA Gold event. She had previously made it to the quarterfinals by defeating Belgium’s eighth seed, Nele Gilis, in a hard-fought three-game match.
Shivangari, a former champion of the London Squash Classic, will now face Egypt’s second seed, Amina Orfi, in the semifinals. Orfi, the current World Champion, awaits her Malaysian opponent.
Following her easy win, Shivangari credited her tactical approach and ability to maintain intensity throughout the match. She expressed satisfaction with her performance, acknowledging Anahat’s talent and her history of challenging top players.
