Amruta Fadnavis Thanks US Ambassador for Praising Devendra Fadnavis

Nagpur, August 19: US Ambassador Sergio Gore recently praised Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as a “passionate leader” during an event. He highlighted that Maharashtra is on the world map for two reasons: Mumbai and its exceptional Chief Minister. When Amruta Fadnavis, the Chief Minister’s wife, was asked about this commendation, she expressed her gratitude to the US Ambassador and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for the Chief Minister’s achievements.

Amruta Fadnavis stated, “First, I would like to thank US Ambassador Sergio Gore for praising Devendra Fadnavis and for speaking highly of Maharashtra. Mumbai is the economic capital of the country, and thus it receives recognition worldwide. Regarding Devendra Fadnavis, I can say that all leaders working under Prime Minister Narendra Modi are so inspired that they dedicate themselves to serving the public day and night. In a way, this is the Prime Minister’s blessing, which motivates leaders to work with such dedication and commitment for the people.”

The Maharashtra government has signed an agreement with the renowned Cleveland Clinic from the US to establish a Medicity in Mumbai. Both Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and US Ambassador Sergio Gore were present at the event, where discussions also took place to enhance cooperation between the two countries. During this time, Ambassador Gore shared his experiences while praising Fadnavis.

The US Ambassador remarked, “Fadnavis is a dynamic leader, full of energy, and passionate about his work.” He even encouraged the audience to applaud Fadnavis.

Meanwhile, Amruta Fadnavis was also questioned about the Tamil Nadu government’s decision to grant one year of maternity leave to female government employees for the birth of a third child. She responded, “This decision can be viewed from two perspectives. On one hand, there is the issue of the country’s growing population, making it essential to consider how appropriate such a decision is regarding a third child. On the other hand, it is also a strong right of a woman concerning her child. Therefore, this issue cannot be viewed from just one angle. Hence, I will refrain from commenting on this matter.”

It is noteworthy that the Tamil Nadu government recently announced an increase in maternity leave for female government employees for the birth of a third child from 84 days to 365 days. Previously, one year of leave was provided for the first two children, while only 12 weeks were granted for the third child. Now, the announcement extends the same one-year leave for the third child as well. The government has described this move as a step towards providing more convenience for women and promoting women’s empowerment.
