Lalitpur, August 18: Political tensions have escalated following Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s accusations against the BJP of promoting divisive and hate-driven politics. In response, BJP MLA Ramratan Kushwaha from Lalitpur fiercely countered these claims, accusing Congress of appeasement and divisive politics.
Kushwaha stated that since losing power, Congress has been consistently vocal against the BJP on various issues. He emphasized that Congress should approach matters concerning the nation with a sense of national sentiment rather than a political lens. He questioned Congress’s stance on the national anthem, noting that once a bill is passed by both houses of Parliament and receives presidential assent, it becomes law. All political parties and citizens are obliged to adhere to it.
He further asserted that coalition partners should also align with Congress’s policies. “When the national anthem is being played in your office, you cannot suggest stopping it or disrupting it. During the anthem, we should stand in a respectful posture and sing. If you do not know the entire anthem, you can remain silent and stand respectfully to honor the country. However, to claim that you should not be taught patriotism is absurd. Where is your patriotism? If you were truly patriotic, the country would not be in its current state. For 70 years, you have only practiced the ‘divide and rule’ policy, inciting conflict between Hindus and Muslims. Congress’s sole agenda seems to be to fracture Hindus while uniting Muslims.”
Kushwaha continued, stating that while Congress positions itself as the greatest ally of Muslims, it is not genuinely so. In contrast, he claimed that the BJP is working for the welfare of all communities. He noted that people from all backgrounds are now connecting with the BJP. The government is fulfilling every expectation of Muslims, providing housing, loans, and necessary facilities without any caste discrimination. Despite this, there is a persistent fear instilled that the BJP is an enemy, a hardline party supported by staunch Hindus. “Our party respects Sanatan culture,” he added.
He questioned, “If we are nurturing Sanatan culture, what is wrong with that? Sanatan culture is our way of life, our methodology, and Lord Ram is our ideal. Those who do not have a positive sentiment towards this are the ones saying, ‘Do not teach us patriotism.’ Learn to respect this country. Patriotism is demonstrated by working for the nation’s development and supporting government decisions made in the national interest. This sentiment should be instilled in them. They are arrogant, believing they can say whatever they want. Their only agenda seems to be to find a way to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi from office, which is not feasible.”
