Amit Shah to Chair Northeast Council Meeting Focused on Development and Connectivity

New Delhi, June 3: Union Minister of Communications and Development for the Northeast Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, will embark on a two-day visit to Shillong starting Wednesday. During his visit, he will participate in various significant meetings, including the 73rd plenary session of the Northeast Council (NEC) held in the capital of Meghalaya.

On June 4, Minister Scindia will attend the NEC’s 73rd plenary meeting at the State Convention Centre in Shillong, which will be chaired by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, who is also the council’s president. The meeting will address various topics related to the overall development of the Northeast region, regional connectivity, infrastructure, economic progress, and improved coordination among states.

During the visit, the Union Minister will also participate in a meeting related to the North Eastern Space Applications Centre. Discussions will focus on accelerating the development of the Northeast region through space technology and modern techniques.

This visit by Minister Scindia is considered crucial for reviewing ongoing development projects in the Northeast and discussing future development strategies for the region. The ministry is implementing various initiatives to enhance connectivity, infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, skill development, and economic activities in the northeastern states.
